Since 2013, entrepreneur Hopwood DePree, a descendant of the Hopwood Family, who has worked in arts, entertainment, educational programmes, and event management, has been pursuing the rescue and restoration of Hopwood Hall. Subsequent to taking the project on full time in August 2017, he and his team have helped secure private and public funds from Historic England, National Lottery Heritage Fund, and Architectural Heritage Fund; which have aided in vast structural improvements; helped investigate viable business opportunities; furthered the establishment of a charity; grown a very successful community engagement programme, as well as having built a national and international profile for the Hall by establishing strong ties with the media.
